CMS 10000 Solar Inverter ERR DC SENSOR
Is your CMS 10000 Solar Inverter showing an ERR DC SENSOR message on the screen? If so it’s not good news, as when this message is being displayed your solar power system isn’t working. Thankfully you’ve noticed the message and can now take action to rectify the issue.
The ERR DC SENSOR message is referring to a DC sensor inside the inverter that is in an error state.
When you see this ERR DC SENSOR message the first thing we recommend you try is pressing “OK” to clear the error. If that doesn’t work, try rebooting the system as it is possible that the system has a glitch which a reboot may rectify.
How to reboot (and hopefully clear) your CMS 10000 Solar Inverter ERR DC SENSOR message
There should be instructions near your inverter on how to reboot your inverter, but if there isn’t, please follow the steps:
- Turn OFF the solar supply main switch (or inverter AC isolator if present).
- Turn OFF the PV array DC isolator(s).
- Wait for the inverter screen to go completely blank
- Turn ON the PV array DC isolator.
- Turn ON the solar supply main switch (or inverter AC isolator if present).
- Wait a few minutes while the inverter boots back up.
If after you reboot the system the inverter again displays the(“ERR DC SENSOR”) error message turn the system off. This will stop the beeping (if it is). Unfortunately it looks like you have an internal fault with the inverter which is going to require attention to get your solar power system back into operation.
The CMS company is no longer around, so you are not covered by warranty and the best thing to do will be replace the inverter. We recommend the Fronius Symo 10 solar inverter as a good quality replacement for your CMS inverter. Speak to a local solar accredited electrician and they will help you make the decision.
