Troubleshooting Fronius State 567
If your Fronius GALVO, PRIMO or SYMO solar inverter is displaying a STATE 567 message on the screen we have some good news and bad news for you;
The Good News: Your Fronius solar inverter is still working and does not have a fault.
The Bad News: Your Fronius solar inverter is not producing as much power as it should be.
What does the Fronius STATE 567 message on the GALVO, PRIMO and SYMO inverters mean?
The Fronius STATE 567 message is telling you that the Grid Voltage Dependent Power Reduction function of the inverter is active. It all makes sense now doesn’t it? Well maybe not.. In laymans terms what the STATE 567 message is saying is that the voltage of the electricity grid is higher than it should be. Due to this the inverter is reducing the power output of the inverter to try to keep the grid voltage within permissable limits. When the STATE 567 message is shown the inverter is still working but the power production of the system may be substantially decreased, which is not what you want to hear.
How To Troubleshoot & Fix Fronius Fault Code 567?
The Grid Voltage Dependent Power Reduction mode (GVDPR) setting is a requirement of the latest Australian Standards however there is a couple of things that can potentially be done to try and limit the operation of this mode as follows:
1. Adjust the inverter settings: Out of the box the Fronius GALVO, PRIMO and SYMO solar inverters are set with the GVDPR operating if the grid voltage is higher than 250V. Some Grid Network Service Providers such as Energex allow this setting to be changed to 255V from 250V which in most cases will eliminate the issue. This setting can only be changed by an accredited solar electrician with the approval of the local electricity provider: this is not your electricity retailer but rather the entity who maintains the electricity network in your area. In South East QLD it’s Energex. We recommend you talk to the company who installed your Fronius inverter to make sure this setting has been set to your local electricity providers requirements. PLEASE DON’T CALL US!! TALK TO THE PEOPLE WHO INSTALLED YOUR INVERTER!!
2. Check the Grid Voltage: If your Fronius inverter has been set with the GVDPR at the maximum level that the local electricity provider allows and you are still having STATE 567 issues then the voltages on the grid should be checked. It’s best to do this in the middle of the day with your inverter switched off. If the measured voltage is still really high (above 255V) then you may need to talk to your electricity provider as they will need to look into why the voltage is so high. Your electricity provider has an obligation to provide you with a stable grid voltage which should be below 255V.

3. Check the Voltage Rise in your AC cables: If you have tried step 1 and 2 above and voltage on the grid seems okay with the inverter turned off then you may have an issue with voltage rise in your system. Please contact your original installer to check this out for you. A maximum of 2% voltage rise is allowed, if the voltage rise is higher than this some of the AC cables at your property may require upgrading.
